Saints vs. Jaguars: Week 6 NFL Picks & Game Predictions

The New Orleans Saints Will Be the NFL pick for Sundays game against the Jacksonville Jaguars — and for good reason.

It is official: Were at the ranch here on the Gardner Minshew bandwagon. The Jacksonville Jaguars (2-3 SU, 3-2 ATS) have been profitable after five near-complete games from their backup quarterback, after the busted collarbone Nick Foles endured early on through their season opener. Minshewmania is runnin crazy ~!
Then again, Teddy Bridgewater. The New Orleans Saints (4-1 SU, 3-2 ATS) have won three consecutive SU and ATS because their backup QB took over for Drew Brees, whos out indefinitely with a broken thumb. And with their superior defense and special teams, it seems like the Saints would be the correct NFL pick as 1.5-point road dogs for Sundays competition (1:00 p.m. ET, CBS).
To support our hypothesis, we turn to our preferred sources for non-proprietary (i.e. totally free ) computer projections:

FiveThirtyEight: New Orleans –3.5
Jeff Sagarin: New Orleans –3.93, 46.39 complete

Thats pretty reassuring. A caveat, however : old-school betting principles are the better option. Indeed, the consensus accounts at press time reveal 63 percent of bettors a documented public team, on the Saints, although 51 percent of the amount wagered is about Jacksonville. This game was a pickem in the open, by the way.

We are not scurred. A bet would still be proper in the surface of the betting patterns, and given the between Bridgewater and Brees. It does not seem to be that large of a drop-off. The efficiency amounts at Football Outsiders of bridgewater are marginally above league average. As it turns out, sample sizes that are small issue.
The amounts of minshew have been better, mind you. The mustachioed one ranks No. 8 overall in passing DVOA through Week 5, 1 step ahead of this almighty (and also hirsute) Aaron Rodgers. However, Jacksonvilles defense has been poor on the earth. Slimming Pro Bowl CB Jalen Ramsey into a demand isnt assisting their pass protection, either.

The Saints have not played with excellent defense this season, but they have out-performed that the Jags. While both teams have excelled on special teams, New Orleans has been that much better; May Lutz is 10-of-11 on extra points and 11-of-12 on field goals, while Deonte Harris has taken one punt go back to the home.

There might be a room to take theover for this matchup in the posted total of 44, down from 45 if the NFL odds first hit the board. Its supposed to become a day in Jacksonville, and neither groups defense was stellar this season, although the copy QBs have outperformed expectations. But well stick with all the Saints here and may be together with you.
